Renewable Svalbard

Norwegian politicians bring world leaders to Svalbard to show them how fast climate change will affect our vulnerable arctic ecosystems. At the same time, the archipelago is 100 percent dependent on coal. Skift wants to help make it 100 percent renewable. Together with companies and organizations like Posten, Ruter, EFO, Snøhetta, Telenor, DNV GL, Statkraft, AHO, ZERO, WWF, Multiconsult, and Statsbygg, we work with Longyearbyen lokalstyre, Svalbard Airport, Svalbard Næringsforening, and Store Norske to make Svalbard a testbed for inspiring innovations that build competitive, renewable businesses.
